During my travels to Japan in 2019, I took a pottery workshop in Kyoto. My teacher asked me if there was anything I wanted to change about the piece I was making. With my minimal Japanese knowledge, I joked, “Neko” (cat). He laughed and pinched the rim of the cup. Now these cat cups are one of my best sellers and favorite pieces to make!
The little cat ears are a joy to drink out of and also are great to lean spoons or for draping tea bag strings.
