I think when making these my architecture and design background came through! Simple and elegant, the shape of these bowls feel great to hold. The size is a great medium size for multiple uses. I use them for my "Betty Bowls" (usually mixed bean rice with stir fry veggies).
This collection integrates many things I have wanted to incorporate in a dinnerware set. First of all, the clean, minimal angularity touches my architectural past and my love of all things simple. And the details of color, texture and design reflect the more complex, nuanced sides of me. Lastly, the shape! I have always thought it would be great to have dinnerware that tapers in at the top rim allowing for the ease of enjoying the last bits of food or drops of drink. Here, the proportions allow for the experience to feel delicate as well, but the actual volume of these pieces is substantial.
